Diploma from the latest educational institution graduated (attach translation)
If the applicant has not yet graduated, a certificate with the expected date of graduation (attach translation)
Official academic transcript, showing each academic year of graduate instetute.
Required when applying for further education (translation attached)
Certificate of Japanese Language Ability
Details of hours of attendance (over 150 hours), lesson hours, materials used, learning levels (translation attached)
Copy of family register
The information of address, educational background, occupation must be the same at the time of submission (China only)

Person who already has a passport
Certificate of employment
Person under employment (translation attached)

Financial Support Statement
Financial supporter forms, filled by financial guarantor (translation attached)
Deposit certificate of bank balance of financial supporter
Has a currency balance of 3 million JPY, or equivalent in US Dollars, in their home country
Copy of deposit certificate
Deposit certificate of last 3 months or more
Copy of bank statement or bank book
Documents that show the details of deposits and withdrawals
Certificate of employment
Information regarding birth date, address, date of employment, job description, etc. (translation attached). In case of business ownership, copy of business license (translation attached).
Annual income certificate
Complete salary income information, bonuses, and other income for last 3 or more years (translation attached), or in the case of business ownership, tax payment certificates of last 3 or more years
Copy of family register
The information of address, educational background, occupation must be the same at the time of submission (China only)
Certificate showing the family relationship between the applicant and financial supporter
Attachment of translation

Certificate of employment
In the case of business ownership, a certified transcript of the company’s register
Tax certificate or tax declaration of 3 or more years
Resident registry, or registration card certificate
Certificate showing the family relationship between the applicant and financial supporter
Attachment of translation

Person who has completed at least 12 years or more of regular accredited education in their home country (institutions vary by each country) or similar level of education.
Person who has completed a secondary curriculum in their home country which gives them entrance qualifications for university level education.
(Person who has graduated from high school, or have credits equivalent to high school graduation level.) (For persons wishing to enter a Japanese university, they are required to have completed 12 or more years of an accredited educational curriculum.)
Person who has completed at least 150 hours of certified Japanese language courses or have passed Japanese Language Proficiency Test Level 4 or higher at the time of submitting an application for admission.
Person who has a guarantor in Japan or in their home country.
